$9,000 to $22,500 AUD is a big range but it doesn't come close to the cost of removal and decommissioning.

The closest (very roughly) comparable boats on the market at the moment are the fifty-something Davidsons asking $120k-ish. Another datum point is the old Bobsled, which was beautifully converted for cruising, was asking for around $280k, and sold.

I think Brindabella was originally very well built and as a significantly bigger boat than the Davos you could arguably put well over $100k into her and not be over capitalising IMHO, but I don't claim expertise. It would be interesting to see if she could take TP sails. She could rate very well IRC - she's not too extreme.

I dunno, I think a foam cored hull is not designed or built to last 37 years. Especially one that has been raced hard offshore.
