Hi All,
I have recently bought amy first cat, a windrush 12. As I am completely new to sailing I am still learning the lingo. The cat I have bought needs a little work. Just wondering will a windrush 14 sail fit my 12 ? and can anyone tell me what size rope I should be running e.g. Tramp mat, halyard etc.
Cheers

I was about to say try on Catsailor........ LOL
If you mean the lacing rope to tension the tramp then 3mm is plenty there are tips on Catsailor somewhere about how to tie it to get the best tension.
For the halyard on the 14 it's about 4mm then wire so for the 12??
As for the sail pretty sure it will not even be close.
Windrush yachts are still open and were very helpful when I needed stuff and information. Phone: 08 9314 1317

If you haven't got any other sail for it you could cut the big one down at a sail makers. Shorten it by taking material off the bottom (side closest to boom) not the top and the leech side not the luff side (side closest to mast) then before you sail it put on lots of tell tails then when you do sail it check where the draft is (look in a sailing text book or search the net - its basically the deep curve in the sail that gives you your power) and maybe get the sail maker to adjust it a bit.

Thanx for the feedback,
Do you think I would get away with using the 14 sail if i was to use a 14 boom and mast ? or would I be asking for trouble.

I guess it would work but I'd be more tempted to just get a whole 14. They are ridiculously cheap, I got mine with a great trailer ready to go for$800. I could've even bargained for a lower price. The 12 hulls would have to be seriously schmick to sink any money into.
If you had a whole spare 14 rig and only 12 hulls I figure it could be done, the 14 does have a jib so without that and sailed in appropriate conditions could be a real screamer!
