Hi all

Was wondering if anyone had an experiences with dining on water in Sydney harbour, I'm out Almost every weekend and usually get take away from Doyle's at Watsons bay.

Who else caters for takeaway or dinner via a water arrival?

Love to what you all do if you don't BYO food, or go out on short notice?

There's a rather nice restaurant at Clifton Gardens, with a takeaway downstairs. You can sit at a table and keep an eye on the boat.

PS - It's been about four years since I was there so don't blame me if the quality has changed.

Tha main jetty at Chowder Bay would be the Navy fuel wharf which I believe is still operational. You might get told to move from there.

I liked anchoring aT manly recently. Big selection of places to eat by the wharf. Leave dinghy on beach, all good.

I was under the impression that the ADF had relinquished all control of the land and it was all transferred to Sydney Harbour Trust.
Bummer, Chowder Bay was a nice place to work. The rest of the army camp further up the hill is totally decommissioned, had dinner at the Gunners Barracks not so long ago.

Army have gone but it is still the Navy fuel depot and Naval waters which are marked with yellow buoys. I can't remember where they are but the Navy area is patrolled and enforced.

Couple of options up at Cockatoo Island. There's also temporary berths there - fees are $15 for 4 hours or $65 for 24 hours. Limit on length is 30ft, but even my 27ft Soling was a fairly tight fit. Sadly, the Island Bar at Cockatoo Island is closing down (may already be), but there are also other options on the island - www.cockatooisland.gov.au/en/see-and-do/visit/#mod-2004

Just with regards to Chowder Bay - there is also one of those new courtesy moorings there, though it's probably on the edge of what I'd enjoy as a rowing distance
