Hi to all

On my 1983 Saillmaster there are two hard plastic winch handle holders and i have broken a piece out of one of them

Were these a production item or has the previous owner made the out of some square pvc tube

Any thoughts would be appreciated

The original handle I have is a plastic Titan

The other day I bought one of the Ronstan alloy quick locks that was on special at not much more than a standard plastic ronstan (i wanted to try one because i find when nonsailers are on the boat they tend to only insert a conventional handle half way down and the lock does not engage ) but it would not sit deep enough into either the Clevco or Barlow winches to allow the locking pawl to engage so I returned it and bought a plastic conventional Ronstan instead www.whitworths.com.au/ronstan-floating-10-locking-winch-handle-red

I was surprised it did not engage but I imagine modern self tailers have a deeper socket and the quick locks have probably been designed with them in mind www.ronstan.com.au/marine5/product.asp?ProdNo=RF4415

When we race the skipper jokes (I hope he is joking) that if we lose a handle overboard to jump in and retrieve it and he will pick us up on the next lap round

The two rear items may be brackets to hold a cockpit table! Looks like they go all the way down.
