Hi All,
New to sailboats and loving every minute. I've got an Adams 31 Sloop with a symmetrical kite. I've never flown it as I lack the knowledge and experience.
I would love to crew on a boat with a similar setup to mine OR an experienced crew on mine to show me the basics. In return, happy to provide food, alcohol and models in bikinis. Ok, maybe not the bikinis, it's a tad cold.
Kind regards,
Evan

Do you want to travel? Before anyone local jumps in, Pittwater is the hub of symmetrical spinnaker sailing. If you want to learn, come to the RPA any Saturday, just ask for me!

Hey Evan,
I'm in Drummoyne - had you asked a day beforehand, I could've given you a spot to come racing this weekend!
Happy to come by some time and show you the basics if you like though I'll bow to anyone with specific experience on an adams.
Quick question - is the spinnaker pole attached to the mast on a track, or is it totally separate? Do you have all the bits and bobs to fly it? Separate sheets etc?

Jethrow, happy to take a drive up to Pittwater one Saturday. Lovely part of the planet!
Planeray, keep me in mind for next time. The pole is on a track, has about 2 feet of adjustment. I believe I have everything ready to go. However would love someone to run their eye over my setup so I know if anything is missing. Boat is at a marina with easy access.
Thanks!

No dramas...it wouldn't be this Sunday, but potentially on the 2nd of July. All depends on the other crew, but can probably find you a spot.
Mines a very simple setup, so it could be a good way to see the basics, then we can wander over to your boat and see what's different.
