Friend of mine is selling this boat and the mooring. The mooring is in the creek at Myola close to the bank in a really good spot. There is a couple of years waiting list on moorings here so might be a perfect opportunity to jump the queue. I believe the previous boat on the mooring was much larger. The mooring itself requires some maintenance. I was down there this afternoon and the boat sits about 20 feet off a sandy beach that seems to be populated by young mums sunbaking. Not a bad looking Hood 23 either!

They are a good little boat, great fun and a great price. Have to ask though, if there is a couple of years waitlist on a mooring there how can the current owner transfer to a new owner who is not on the list ?

That's how it's done. Buy the boat for the mooring and sell the boat on.

You must have a very understanding BSO. Doesn't happen that way up in Sydney. Buy the boat and go on a list, or go on a list then buy a boat.

A lot of sellers in NSW try the "Sold with mooring" trick, but in fact all they're selling is the block and tackle. Mooring waiting lists are strictly controlled and everyone on the list knows where they are. Anyone who "jumps the queue" is going to be obvious.

When I bought mine I had to go on the waiting list and apply to keep the same spot, there was 4 vacant positions and 2 people in front of me, it first was offered to the folk ahead of me on the list and when they declined it was offered to me.
If you could sell the spot with the mooring, the crappiest boat in the most sort after spot would be worth a fortune !
If your in the queue that Ramonas talking about buying the boat would help speed the process up tho.
You can also apply to move to other spots in the same mooring field as they become vacant for a fee of course, and this way johnny come lately doesn't nessasrally get a primo position while someone who's been there for years is left swing out the back.

If the boat is in Currambene Creek there isn't currently a waiting list so it might be possible to buy the vessel and get the same mooring spot immediately, although obviously the seller can't guarantee that. With a 1.5m draft restriction on moorings there it may not be that attractive for a bigger yacht.

EC is correct. Mooring site doesn't go with the boat if there is a waiting list.

There is not a waiting list as such, just a freeze on new moorings. If any one is interested I can pass on the BO phone number and you can get the info direct. He is particularly accommodating.

For others who might scoff at such a bargain how about this.

I have always been told you must have the boat rego before you can go on the list.
