Hi guys.

I need to transport my 12m Adams from Adelaide to Hervey Bay in February.
I am a little bit time constrained, so I don't plan on stopping and seeing the sights for very long unfortunately.

Can any of you please give me a rough guesstimate how long it may take to travel that far?

Cheers!

A low loader 48 hours . By sea, how far is it and how fast is the boat?

Could you do it in a month?

2000 miles give or take @ 5 knots average is 400 hours sea time

So based on Riff Raffs figures, no.. If you sailed every day, for 12 hours a day, it would take you 33 days. And that is at 5 kn. You may go slower, and you may go faster, but you'll almost certainly have a few days where you wont go any where at all. Then again, you might do a couple of over nighters to make up for it.

How long was that piece of string again

I think you'll need a minimum of 3 or 4 weeks just to get up the NSW coast, wrong time of year really to be going long distance North. But its possible to poke out before a southerly buster/southerly change and just hold on!!!
Usual practice is to wait for the front to pass & ride up on its back.
I would be very, very impressed if you was lucky enough to get the weather to do the entire journey in a month.
Another option would be to travel/motor north at night, when generally the NE'ers ease off.

Note in February there is a strong chance of a cyclone in the Coral Sea, if it decided to end south you could be stuck in a port for a week.

If time is a issue go the low loader.
I transported my 10m yacht from Airle Beach to Brisbane, when I flew home the next day it was sitting at the marina waiting to be unloaded.

I did Darwin to Perth a few months ago in 18 days with 3 rest days. sail around the clock when weather permits and you should manage it in a month.
Adams 10 is no slouch so if you have the crew work on 130 mile days.
