Ok so I have started working on this beach marine macro 25. Which I am completely in love with from every angle.

But I am trying to find out information on the design such as drawings, displacement etc.

I was asked by the lady from AMSA when registering the MMSI what is the weight of the boat and what is the max POB.. I could just take a guess at these things but I generally find it's a better idea to try to find an informed answer and maybe learn a few things along the way.

I am also concerned with knowing this stuff for safety and understanding how much weight I can add with upgrades without affecting performance too much. My wife insists on installing a nice head where the porta potty used to be for example, then theres extra batteries I would like to install, a bigger solar panel, a remote helm with wheel perhaps?? Before I start doing these things it would be good to know what foundation I am building on exactly.

I know it needs anti-fouling at some point before next season and I am guessing they could weigh it for me but Ive only owned trailer sailers up to this point so I really don't know.

If anyone knows any other owners of these cool pocket cruisers I would love to get in touch with them and find out what has worked and what hasn't.

Hi bushdog. So how did you learn your boat is 2.5 tonne? Is it from the manufacturers designed displacement?

i wonder what's the best way to work out how much water your boat displaces without any info from the manufacturer?

Just had a look at weights of similar size Cats.
Simpson 27 - 28 ft Cats (composite hulls) 2.4 to 2.8 tonne.
Perhaps most relevant, Seawind 850 (27.5ft) listed at 2.2 tonne dry weight.
Until you can confirm otherwise, I think 2.5 tonne is a reasonable guesstimate.

Hey Felix, the talk of straps seems to indicate a crane? That's a pretty expensive way to get hauled out, or have you found a wide travel-lift? If so please tell!

We went to refuge bay and towers bay but total sail time has been limited to about 2 hours of headsail. The rigger said the rig is too old so I'm not brave enough to put up the main until I step the mast and replace the rig. But I'm working on the renovation a little bit every day. You can see how it progresses in the other thread about DuFlex panels etc

ive been also repainting inside and re-wiring and re-plumbing and re-upholstering and re-carpeting and replacing.

So so far the receipts are almost $20k in six months of ownership which includes the tender, 2 motors, new Windows, electric head and tank, plumbing, lifeines, new sheets, antifouling, insurance, rego etc

Good thing I didn't pay much for the boat or I would be in trouble!

When the whole boat is done up to a cruising standard I am going to find people to split it 3 ways. So I'll let you know when it's ready!
