I have a nsw registered yacht (expiring in 2 weeks) that i am about to sell in qld to a lady who plan to travel with it. What should i do? I renew my nsw license and she tranfers (can we do that when interstate?) Or i get a qld registration?

You won't be able to register it yourself in QLD. Queenslanders have some number allocated to them that is used on the registration that you won't have unless you're a QLD resident.

just re register in nsw. online. then its up to her to do.

if she plans to aus register it , dont bother registering it

No, this is not quiet correct. Australian ships registration and State registration are two different beasts.

Perfect timing, do nothing,
give her a receipt though, stating she has paid you in full, she should be able to register it in her name in Qld.
I don't know if there would be any problems for her in Qld if the sale is after two weeks???, if it runs out of rego?
it doesn't make any difference in NSW if you buy a registered or unregistered boat.

I believe registration is substantially cheaper in NSW and there is no reason she can't maintain that registration.

If NSW registered she may not be able to get a Qld mooring.
Thems is the rules in NSW at least, only NSW regoed boats get a mooring.

Yeah i know. Point is ots not a big deal to not reregister. She may want qld or oz reg, so id leave it as is. Unregisteted. Not like it needs a blue slip.

Please Register, or first...
