Had to spill the happy beans. After ten years of dreaming and saving we just bought our dream yacht, a Duncanson 35!! We made a vid of the process of finding her, buying her and our first crazy night at sea!! Enjoy!!!

Sorry to gripe... I am 45 years old & have been racing dinghies since about 5... I 'm watching these young people go out and buy a yacht to sail around the world in. Then the say " Now all we have to do is learn how to sail"... Are you kidding me. Why don't these people start at the bottom and work their way up. What if their maiden trip put them off sailing completely... They would then have to on sell if there was even a buyer... sorry gripe over...

A few are making a life style of it like La Vagabond etc. Ok if they spend a good amount of time before heading out in bluer water. I first spent 4 years around Port Phillip then 2 trips across bass strait as crew on a very experienced yacht. The most important lessons apart from the obvious boat handling skills was learning how the experienced skipper and crew thought and approached different scenarios so i can apply the principles learnt from them in whatever situation i find myself in. I have been learning by my mistakes in circumstances where i had "room to move" if i get it wrong. One good lesson was a turn near a reef with the tide flowing towards the reef. If the motor cut out the boat would have been on the rocks and i thought i will never do that again and not leave room for a margin of error. My sailing trip to Tassy was mostly sailed in one day hops in daylight from one safe anchorage to the next and choosing the weather window. Ive had some rough days but was always in a safe anchorage when the change came and waited till it was good to go to the next anchorage.

The motor cutting out over a bar suggests to me there might be dirty diesel or diesel bug in the fuel tank. I'm wondering if this was checked.
Also picking your weather for any voyage is of paramount importance and early trips should only be undertaken in ideal conditions until you know the boat and your hired help knows the boat.
My advise is don't be put off by these cautionary opinions, go for it and follow your dreams, as its a great lifestyle but please go one step at a time gaining experience as you go and travel within your limitations. A mate of mine goes North in winter and heads south as summer approaches to get away from the cyclone season. He's been doing this for the last three years and gained sailing experience while he was building his cat. He has just reached Tassy for the summer but the weather this year is a bit more challenging than the previous years and he has had to shelter a lot more.
Anyway best of luck with it all, you have a great looking boat and a great adventure ahead of you and I will check out you videos from time to time. Good production values for your first vid.

If you want to make a living out of You Tube videos of your sailing adventures you will get more clicks if you put a hot looking babe on your facer page.

Riley on Sailing La Vagabonde knows that but I am sure would never admit to using Alee's superb arse to attract viewers.

I say give those hot arses plenty of screen time.

Never sailed before the Sea Trial , our first sail Boat is a 57 Perry Catamaran , twelve months in we are loving every minute , sailing conservatively and safely isn t very difficult to learn , I would think maintaining systems for those not mechanically minded would be a trickier learning curve

Congrats guys! Do not be put off by some of the negative comments above. Your channel is not going to appeal to some old seadogs, so be it. You've got the good looks, sense of adventure and nicely polished edits. You are already way ahead of the game and the current crop of reality show garbage on mainstream TV. I know what I'd rather watch. I'll be following on youtube.
