How on earth would they know. Impossible.
The lesson here is : dont listen to people on forums.
Gold Coast Waterways know very well. They cruise around photographing boats and enforce the 7 day anchoring limit religiously. Big fines, boats impounded. Welcome to the land of Tom Tate.
Didn't they impound that tall ship in 2016?
I know it cost the owner over a thousand dollars to get her back plus the tow cost as the iron sail was u/s at the time.
Qld is worse than NSW on this case

The authorities up here in qld are pigs. Amazes me how people can let themselves become so brainwashed. I look forward to getting out of here and never returning this far north. Rules rules rules. Never seen anything like it. State also seems to be rife with bludgers smoking fat packs of ciggies and generally being really fat and lazy, just lazing around. They're everywhere. Government and council workers here in qld are taking the piss. I saw 10 guys pile out of 3 expensive trucks to mow lawns in Russell island in a park the sizeof my backyard. An island of utter inbreds. Who pays for all this? No wonder they're off in their flash boats trying to dish out fines every chance they get.
its a beautiful place no doubt but something that always sticks with me when I travel is the people. People make the place.
as for this anchoring malarky if that goes ahead well....another reason to move back to new Zealand
all the rules up here are not even a blip in Europe. Australia loves rules. I thought nsw was bad. Im getting dizzy reading all the signs at boat ramps etc. yet I still see old boats stuck in mud around the place and sunken boats semi submerged - but you gotta have an anchor light. Hypocrisy.
bringing back memories when I lived and worked around the Tully river in the 90s. Bent police, corruption, arresting backpackers for assuming they were doing something wrong.
The further north, the worse it gets.
theres been a lot of really nice places on this trip, as in nice people , and yes in qld, but the further north I get the weirder It gets. I guess you could get used to it though aye like a hole in the head.
i did meet a lovely couple who have been living aboard there 50 foot boat in bums bay goldy from 5 years.
ive met a lot of really nice people actually living aboard from all over the country. I thought it was legal Queensland.
i implore people to not let Authorities divide us. They seem really good at it(it's been happening fo r centuries)
it seems the more rules made, the more people are encouraged to call police or at least get angry that so and so is breaking a rule. A rule that wasn't there before.
in this day and age people you really gotta question authorities. They are part of a bigger machine that do not have the general populations interests at heart. We are merely cogs in their machine to be used for their needs. I just wish peoPle wouldn't participate.
dont play the game. Don't be involved. They're are not yOur friends. They are using everyone for their own agendas.
