Hey,

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anybody is looking for an extra crew member in Brisbane.

I am keen to start sailing and wondered if anybody would be willing to take me out in or around the bay and show me the ropes. I am a fast learner and keen to get stuck in.

I used to sail as a kid and love being out on the water.

I also own a boat myself, albeit a wakeboard boat and would be happy to return the favour if people were keen.

Happy to chip in with any costs too.

Thanks in Advance

Steve

Hi Steve

Welcome to the forum

I am in Tassie so I can't help you but I look at this forum www.trailersailerplace.com.au/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=9955e580889bd4efc8ab43bb24a4adb4 sometimes and I think there are a few Brisbane members on there that might be able to give you a spot

The other thing to do is to contact your local yacht clubs and see if anyone is looking for crew as a lot of the time skippers struggle to get enough crew to race (this happens a fair bit down here so I imagine it is the same elsewhere)

A lot of the clubs have twilight races and are happy to take crew without a lot of experience

Good luck

Regards Don

We could go on my boat, drink a bunch of rum, look at my rolled up sails, and look at sailing pictures in a book? Do you like brie and kabana Steve?

Is this while motoring or do you stay at the marina/mooring

steve, we sail from tweed heads, my girlfriend and I often sail by ourselves and I would like some help sometimes, melita is a racer cruiser 38ft. sails well and we always have a lure out the back, some times a snorkel at cook island, a few drinks etc
