Also, what would normally be included in the list of items I cover the cost of? flights? food???
All costs plus whatever the delivery crew charge for their time.
I did the opposite direction with my boat a few years ago from Lake Macquarie to Bundaberg taking six days.
My two wonderful fellow crew members, now firm friends and without whom I would not have been able to make the voyage in such good time did not charge me for their time.
One is a Navy Commander and the other a Barrister. If they had charged me at their professional rate, it would have cost me more than the boat is worth. I have since sailed with these two great friends to Lord Howe Island and back from Pittwater on one of their boats. Both are forum members.
Despite that, the trip north with food fuel and flights cost me a couple of thousand dollars. This relocating boats is not a cheap exercise.
Airlie Beach to Pittwater is about twice the distance of our trip.
Airlie to Southport is relatively easy and can be done mostly day sailng. Southport to Pittwater is not so easy. Also you are saying "in a few months" when the winds will be mostly southerly. This predicates a lot of motoring = fuel = $$s.
A Catalina 320 is a fair kind of yacht. Is this one very much like yours or is it actually yours??
http://www.boatpoint.com.au/boats/details/1998-Catalina-Yachts-320/OAG-AD-15288586I am tempted with Airlie to Southport, as one or two of my friends may be. Cost being costs, train fares (pensioners $25 each way). Southport to Pittwater is possible but not so tempting.
PM me if you wish to discuss further.
