Just wondering about the rebuilds of marinas in Coffs Harbour(NSW) and the Mersey River? (TAS) How are these progressing after this year's extreme storm damage?. McNaughtical may be able to fill us in about Coffs..I think she is up that way, maybe Donk can do the same with the Tassie situation. I remember the incredible film footage at the time of both events, but as usual the 24hr news cycle moved on and there is no follow-up.

According to the Coffs Harbour Marinas website it is still closed until further notice, no new info on when this is expected to change

Saw Coffs several weeks ago. The north wall strengthening underway (wider and higher) and the old harbour office was demolished. Not sure what's happening with the fingers

I was told a sad story yesterday. One of my neighbours in the Creek has a very tidy motor/sailer,
he had a big falling out with his long time girlfriend jumped in his boat and sailed off to Tassie.
Got a berth at the marina just before the storm came in. The marina blew apart and his boat sank.
Apparently only third party insured so lost everything. Got to feel for someone with luck like that.

It might sound callious, but I do not have much symphony for people that do not have comprehensive insurance. In boating there is far most chance of sustaining damage to your own boat than you causing damage to another boat. Unfortunately it is one of those nessary evils of owning a boat.
