I had my Gas compliance done in NSW 2 years ago and now I have to get compliance in WA. The requirement of AS5601 part 2 is to have fixed gas detection with minimum of 2 sensors and solenoid shut off. It also needs a facility to start a bilge blower if deemed not to have adequate ventilation.
Has anyone done this recently and found anywhere you can purchase a full system for under $1000.

We installed a DVK system, all up about $600 with 2 sensors. Nothing said about blower requirement.

Thanks Free Radical
I had a good look around,
I have come to the conclusion Whitworths have lost the Plot. I ended up with a BEP 600-GDL plus additional sensor and solenoid for $450.

Whitworths price for same 3 Items was over $700 and as you said the DVK came in at just over $600.
Now to find out what the gas fitter is going to charge.

Seems many gas detector units use the Figaro 813 head which are available for $9 on the internet. ($82 at some Australian marine online stores).
It is a simple voltage measuring circuit. I am sure that someone like Trek could integrate something into the transponder.
Not sure if the whole of Australia is requiring Gas detectors now or not.

I feel another Arduino project coming on, i.e., hooking up one these sensors to an Arduino microprocessor

Of if you want a ready-to-go system (gas alarm with solenoid), here's one on Amazon for "only" US $221.

Perhaps there's a seller that will ship to Australia without charging an arm and a leg.

Unfortunately you need an AGA approved valve so its unlikely that solenoid will pass muster. Also need 2 sensor capability for Australia.
Shows how expensive we really are in Australia.
Ended up buying from NZ good pricing i thought.
