Mast damage...

any opinions on this mast damage? it looks like a dodgy repair to me, but i don't know much about working with that kind of metal...

Looks like an exit box that's been patched. I've seen better repairs but it looks like that one has been
done 'in situ'. I don't think it will weaken the mast but HG may give you a better opinion.

could be. there seems to be a second smaller one hiding behind the blocks...

I weld aluminium with a mig welder and the welds look like that. Tig is neater but that's nothing to worry about.
