I love smack talk.

I hear that it is heading down south to Busso.

There is also another rumour that we will get another Sports 8 over here shortly.

Hey Ohf Shore, I remember the last couple times we've been out you've said we need to flatten the sail more.... well we bent the mast more and the sail flattened off heaps but we found the boat stopped heeling , but forward boatspeed was a lot less than before... ( this was around up to 14 kts of wind with the #1 up ) , would this mean that generally, if it will be light, the belly and sail setup that we have had would be good, but for towards 20, the setup I had last time we went out ( ie,, seemed to be depowered a lot, with less drive) , would be better?

Im guessing, ( because the day we went out the sail was depowered but the rig was relativly slack on the caps ( 23), that it would have inverted if we had wound on the normal tension 25-26, ........ so from that setup we wound the top + middle on 5 turns, and bottom on 3, thinking that if the caps were set at 25/26, that would bend it back more towards where we were the other day using heavy mainsheet + lots of wind.

I honestly know very little about mainsail trim. I just grind ours on and eese it off but I dont know a great deal on the technical side of it. Downsideup on Freodoctor is very keen to come for a sail with you. He would know far more about mainsail set up than me.

My suggestion was to bear away more in the gusts and sail up in the light stuff.

Hey All U Guys,

Im not saying the thompsons are slow im just saying that against handicap and on 60% of occasions the melges 24 is a bit quicker then the T7. Um the melges 24 coming to WA is called Kaito and will be sailing out of Fremantle. The Trailer Support and Mast Lifting Gear, Heath Walters the Melges 24 + 32 Agent will be able to help. Go to www.melges.com.au for his email address. By the way im in QLD not WA. Bring on Skandia Geelong Week.[}:)]
Cheers
