Howdy, my yacht has sold and I'm actively searching for new yacht. Shortly my mooring will be unattended, and no boat registered in my name. Heard there's an upcoming inspection in my area in August.
Do I get a mooring minder, and try to deal with it later? Or just go to RMS and tell my story Plead for more time, my area has no wait list currently.Mooring minders can be found basically the same price as new moorings, however would need to go through the process again, or deal with getting rid of minder.

If I go the mooring minder, are Hood 23 any fun? Maybe I could bash around the Harbour for a bit of fun while finding the new yacht.

Thoughts and know anyone with a suitable minder that their trying to get rid of?
Im in Sydney Harbour, so would need to be local closed waters

Cab it's in the hands of your local BSO they know what's what in there mooring fields, my boat wasn't on its mooring during the inspection period but I still got the congratulation letter, I guess because the boat is known not to be an eyesore. you've got inspection receipt or stat dec for the apparatus. There's no order or instruction to be present for parade on inspection day, I wouldn't sweat it if there's no waiting list, and I think from memory when offered a spot you have 3 months to put a boat on it

Hi Carbon,

Last year I sailed up to the Whitsunday from Port Hacking, so although I had a boat registered, the mooring was unattended for 6-months. In that time they sent me a letter to verify the mooring service was done, which it was so, really you would have to be unlucky, if the BO is reasonable I'm sure you could advise you are actively looking for a new boat.
happy hunting too!
cheers Richard

Spoke with BO, told them my story, they gave me a email to apply for 3month vacancy, with a 3 month extension possible.
About as fair as could be expected. The search continues

Good as gold, you should be able to find something to suit your needs in 6months
