There was a thread a while back about mooring audits happening in some bays on Sydney Harbour. Today I got a letter that mooring apparatus audits will be conducted in Salt Pan Cove in August. I can't comment on other areas of Pittwater but I assume it will roll along through the others.

Anyone else get the letter? Hopefully it wasn't just me...

In the Clarence it was March, nothing to be concerned about unless your vessel is an eyesore. Get a contractor to check your mooring gear or do it yourself and sign a stat dec, the RMS have there own stat dec you can print just for the purpose

Nah, my mooring is good, but the boat needs a bit of paint

Got a letter in April, I'm in McCarrs Creek requesting proof of service, I provided copy invoice from the Mooring service company, haven't heard anything since.

I'm in McCarrs Creek too. I did not attend to the request for proof of mooring service as I am battling with Missus's health crisis.
A month ago I got a reminder saying I had 21 days to show proof or lose the mooring. I complied immediately and have heard
nothing since. Moral of the story....do as they say...or else.

Make sure the RMS mooring licence conditions are read and fully understood then ask your mooring contractor if your mooring complies.
One condition is that the mooring must be capable of handling "all adverse conditions".
These conditions are included with the audit letter and mooring licence renewal.
I've been down this path and yet to find a mooring contractor that can meet these conditions.
I would be pleased to be advised of any that do.
One contractor in Sydney only provides 3 months warranty.

Yes all adverse conditions is a broad sweeping statement. It would be difficult to divise something to deal will a tsunami for instance. In flood prone rivers it falls apon the owner to take action, let out more rope, move the vessel or at least be around to clear debris

Sam,
I haven't been on here much but wanted to pass on my best wishes to you and the missus. My sincere hope that all turns out well. John

Sam. We had to go through the mooring survey thing a few months ago, might even be last year! Several weeks later I got a congratulations letter in the mail. So just relax it's probably in the mail!

MB....Ramona, Thanks guys. As you know Missus has been more than active since we bought our boat, both as a
sailing partner and maintenance partner and to have her sidelined these past few months has been painful for me.
I now sail single handed to keep the boat in order but it's not much fun. She has a very tricky operation coming up
on Wednesday and as you are my friends (all of you )I'll share this with you. We are working towards getting her
back on deck, so if you've got time to say a quick one for her it will be appreciated. Sam.

They did us in Lane Cove River last year. Getting a congratulations letter is a nice bonus, but you probably won't hear anything unless something's wrong.

I didn't get a congratulation letter possibly because I asked for a definition for " adverse conditions " relative to the Beaufort scale.
Send a pm if you would like a copy of the reply.

We were done in Careel Bay earlier this year, about March I think.... heard nothing, then got another letter to say that they wanted proof, so sent it again. Still heard nothing.

Sam... I hope all goes well with your wife's Op. It's not much fun sailing while your lady wife is laid up.

Well, just as a follow-up.

Yesterday I got a thank you and congratulations letter from Transport for NSW for passing my mooring audit.

I wasn't actually expecting to hear anything after submitting the information, so when the official letter arrived I was nervous about opening it, but all good!
