There is a local "Contractor" here who does in water inspections for $50. He has inspected the wrong mooring! Mate and I rescued the yacht that came off the right mooring a few weeks later. We also rescued another yacht a few months back that came off the mooring a few days after one of his checks. There does not seem to be any qualifications to be a professional mooring contractor so word of mouth and reputation is important. I would also suggest your present for the survey.
This is why I have been maintaining my own mooring.
it is for my own personal benefit to know the condition of what's holding my home and contents in place .
yet as insurance requirements state a professional mooring contractor it is looking like I let them check it then
after having to pay them check it myself to be sure !
