Hey all, I have just acquired a older hobie 14 and trailer. I have not done any sailing before,it appears to be all there and in reasonable condition. Is there any where I could go to learn to rig it, and sail it, I'm on the north shore in Sydney , but happy to travel as its trailer able . Would like to learn how to use it with some one . Happy to pay for a lessons.but I don't know any one that can sail. Is there any where some one can recommend? Thanks heaps , Daniel

Please just join your local sailing club. They will happily teach you, have wealth of knowledge about rigging it, and teach you to sail properly and also may just meet a few new people to boot.

to say nothing about the safety aspect, their safety boats and accredited instructors, they have a duty of care for newbys ... so why not, is a win win IMHO

Contact Palm Beach Sailing Club www.pbsc.org.au/ You will find plenty of helpful and friendly Hobie sailors there.

Hobie 14s are making a comeback and World Championships have recommenced.

Here is a link to the Hobie 14 assembly manual: static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/e_h14manual.pdf

And there are some basic sailing instructions on this website: www.hobie.com/au/en/articles/basics-sailing,182/

Have fun!
