Hi
I have hired the shayla catamaran from Marina mirage who is taking 5 of us for my birthday This Thursday,
sailing from the Marina Mirage to Stradbroke island, sailing from 10.30am for 4 hours.
I am no good at understanding the conditions, and I am not the one sailing the boat, its a catamaran.
But I would like to know you advise about going out this Thursday, if it will be really windy or choppy.
Do you know if it is a nice trip to stradbroke,
where do you think would be the safest place to snorkel mabey?
Mainly i just wanted to know what I can expereince as in weather conditions..
THANKS

Well it's all pretty protected there in the Broadwater and Southern Bay. The Forecast IS for some pretty bloody strong East- South -Easterlies which will get you there pretty quickly and comfortably. You'll be motoring home though. I assume you mean SOUTH Straddie around Couran Cove? It's a nice anchorage there but not really any snorkelling to speak of. But a nice place for a drink or two on deck, a BBQ, and maybe a swim.
Just my thoughts.....

Just an extension to last message - if you have time , Jumpinpin is very clean and sandy . Water seems clearer but it is near the bar so check anchor is good. Couran Cove is back in business as noted . Good for easy mooring , restaurant and bar . I agree that the water is not ' inviting ' tho'.
