Hi Folks

We have recently moved our 38' ketch to North Arm Cove at Port Stephens. Wondering if anyone else on this forum is moored there or elsewhere in Port Stephens.?

Cheers

Hi Tony
I have my 32' ketch moored at wanda bay . The drive from Sydney is not to bad and I have found the cost of haul outs a lot more reasonable , she ended up staying out for a month last time . Will probably do the same again this year to finally finish off last years list of things to do.

Hi Chris

Thanks for the response. Yes a bit of a drive for you but a beautiful location. We are very new to all this but enjoying immensely. Where do you slip your yacht? My yacht is basically an old cruiser and am looking for someone who has some experience to show us some of the ropes.

Sorry in taking so long to reply, she was slipped at cove marine last time ,the haul out cost includes a pressure wash . I went up a couple of days early and left her on a mooring out the front. you have to go in on a high tide, im told its quite shallow, no depth gauge on my boat when I went in and out , ( was a bit worried going in but followed the plotter track exact as I could on the way out lol ) When I returned the boat was in the work yard nice and clean below the waterline , maybe im lazy but one less thing to do was fine by me.
Im on a learning curve as well as its my first boat , have been working on a mates boat for the last 30 years and thankfully he is happy to help out with mine.
Will be up there in a few weeks to put my new diesel lines in, then its time for some sailing .
cheers chris

Yes time for sailing sounds good! I'm still struggling with flat batteries and busted raw water intake line, but getting there.
Am ringing around the slipways to compare prices etc.Any one have any feed back on any of them up here?

I put a 40 watt panel on the back deck with a small controller that does just the start battery , seems to keep it quite happy . Mine is an old volvo ( yes i know ) still has the hand crank handle . One day when ive had my wheat bix i will try it , im told its just about impossible lol
PM me if you would to discuss my dealings with the 2 slip ways i have used
cheers chris
