Yep, I'm another one!! 2 months ago I took delivery of a rather shabby but otherwise (apparently) good old Hood 23.She's got a soft deck like a lot of them but I'm confident that I can fix it so that it'll be quite usable if not perfect . Had her rego'd last week -a load off my mind but still have a way to go with her . Plenty of time, though, to do her up and learn to sail her .Read an interesting forum posted about this time last year in which a woman calling herself "Mage" was in a similar situation to me with her Hood 20.She lives near me as do some of the other people involved on that forum and I wondered whether she is still around.Could be interesting to compare notes.I'm shortly going to wander over to the Gosford Sailing Club to see if they'll perhaps take me on one of their twilight sails. They look so majestic on the water . Can't believe how much help people have been so far with advice and offers of help to a complete novice (and stranger!). It's been a real eye-opener.Restores your faith in human nature. Mine was rather jaded. I don't have any other questions today. Just thought it would be nice to be in touch with some like-minded people as I reckon I'm going to need some advice from more experienced sailors sooner rather than later. Thanks for reading this and "FAIR WINDS" (Is that the right thing to say??)

Welcome and congratulations. Sounds like a good deal to me. Free is hard to beat and there will be hours of fun to be had with a Hood 23.

From what I remember of the lady with the Hood 20 she had it up for sale soon after she appeared on here and said she was off to Thailand.
