How does the Windrush stack up against a J24? Just curious. I read the previous thread on the windrush and followed that up on a google search. So anyone with experience on both?

Scuse me while I have a quiet snigger to myself, before Bashford built the J24 they were built by Capt'n Kanga also here in Nowra and I recall building one so light it nearly floated out of the mould. I had worked the glass wet into wet thereby achieving a very high glass to resin ratio. Unfortunately it can't be done to every boat as it takes man hours to work like hell before the resin goes off.

There are two Sorcerers for sail in WA at the moment. Buy them both and still have change out of that 14 grand for a cruise ship holiday for two for 10 days!

A Wildfire off the wind with the dagger board up will plane in a fresh enough breeze and there will hardly be a similar length yacht that will catch it.

Hard on the breeze they can carry a full main and jib without having to reef in 25 knots + by squeezing up in the gusts.

I know because I had to do it one day a while ago.

The Wildfire design is (not was) 20 years ahead of it's time and I am sure Joe Adams would thoroughly approve it.
