Hi,
Does anyone knows the best ramp/s in Perth to use to launch a trailer sailer with a fixed keel (1.5 m draft)??
Cheers

waldy,
depends which side of the river you're on, there are plenty of ramps all over the river, just one which suits you the best.
usually, the yacht club boat ramps are all dredged and concrete to a depth, plus there is usually a jetty beside, public boat ramps tend to be for launching tinneys which need only a shallow draught to launch.
if you're a member of a yacht club u can use their ramp, but if you're near cyc i can lend u a key when u need it, keep it on the boat

Depending where you are and where you want to sail. I would check out depth and slope but I rather like East Fremantle for launching. Fairly busy and you would need to be organised so as not to intrerrupt the efficiency there.
No doubt you will launch her once fully rigged and will will float her off the trailer. The powerboaties would expect you to be off the finger jetty quickly.
Mmm, not sure about the protocols of launching from a Club ramp if you're not a member. I am sure that many would not be too impressed.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I launched fairly easily at the Matilda Bay ramp on Sunday which wasn't too busy.

Yeah that was me. Nice spot to launch except for getting stuck in the middle of that medical emergency.
