Plastic Muffler Blowout

Hi All,

Have had a plastic muffler melt on me , I want a fibreglass replacement but cant seem to find any on line that is an exact fit as its in a tight spot.
Any ideas welcome , cheers

Foreshore marine exhaust at Kurnell, if they cant help you I don't know who can.

If your plastic one has melted it might be worth checking how much water is being pumped into the exhaust before you replace it because you might have a problem

Hi Don,
Thank you and thought as much, impeller okay, mixing elbow was a bit choked up , engine temp okay
strainer had a small amount of weed but okay also. The heat distortion temp on the glass is 130 deg so reckon I will be fine now , plastic one was pretty old like skipper

If you had an exhaust temperature sensor/alarm fitted........?

Problem is the distortion temp of plastic is so much lower than glass
Fibreglass can handle the temp from a short period of nil water flow , plastic cannot
