Hi,

I'm about to be given a small 22 foot keel yacht which has been neglected. It needs an antifoul and work on the rudder.

Just wondering if there is any public slips or cheap slips in Sydney Harbor, or other ways I could do the work cheaply.

Is joining a yacht club with a slip a good option?

This is a tough question. The reason these small vessels are so cheap or free is there is no such thing as a cheap slip in Sydney or any where else really. If its a Bluebird or a similar yacht that some clubs sail they may have trailers or trollies you can borrow. This may be your best option. First thing to do is find others like yours and see what the owners do.

A better option would be to get it up to Pittwater, or Hawkesury. The slipping is a little less expensive. RPAYC also have cradles you can rent to do work yourself, but because anti foul work is so toxic, they usually prefer to do it to prevent any Eco accidents.
