I'll be visiting and staying with friends on Coochiemudlow Island over the coming school holidays and would like to take our 16ft calypso. I usually sail from the gold coast, Bribie Island or sunshine coast.
I'd appreciate any local advice on were's the best place to launch around Victoria Point or Cleveland and rig as I've noticed most ramps are rocky or very muddie.
I usually launch and then rig, probably out of habit but often rig solo, but may have to rig on the trailler and then launch. Won't be able to do that solo!
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The best ramp is at Victoria Pt North near the VMR base, it is directly opposite Coochie. There is a pontoon down the centre of the ramp you can rig from and at high tide there is sand you could pull up onto.
Coming into Victoria Pt you go to the left and the road runs down to the ramp. If you go right it takes you to the rocky ramp next to the jetty and ferry terminal.
Check it out on Google Earth. Once you are on Coochie you can leave it on the beach.
