An uninvited rat has taken up residence in my flaked sail.
It has left stains on my lovely main.
Any ideas on cleaning sails?

Ouch thats no good. Cleaning stuff depends on sail material. I used Spray and Wipe from time to time.

And you need a ships cat

I had a snake skin in the folds of my main last time I put it up. So then I was wondering if it was still on board or if the cats had killed it. A couple of weeks later on a nice sunny morning, one of my cats spooked out on deck. I looked out just in time to see the snake that had been sunning itself on the deck, leap overboard before the cat pounced on it.

Had a Lace Monitor climb aboard not long ago looking for seagulls eggs, I was on board and shooed it off.
It swam off and did the rounds of the Creek climbing aboard any boat it could get a foothold on, usually the boarding platform.

I had a python on board once, collected it from been anchored of Garden Island WA. Tryed to catch him and it felt in the water, he had a swim around the yacht and climbed back on board up the ladder. Pushed him back in the drink and lifted the ladder. Next morning he was sun baking in the tender!

And so much more effective at keeping gull poo off your deck than a rubber one.
