Hey. Anyone know a good place to get good value foam? I need to replace six berths and some back rests so using most foam it would end up being pretty expensive. I have found two places in Sydney that look pretty good: Home Upholsterer and Luxafoam. Any experiences of these or others?

Sounds good, Boatin and thanks. Of course, the big question is price - there are places that will cut to size but the prices i've seen are for Rich Yachties whereas I'm a Poor Yachty.

Cutting yacht cushions is a bit of an art. Rectangular ones are ok but those cushions that follow the shape of the hull and need the sides tapered as well will test you. The foam needs to be the multi layer type too for comfort.

I would be inclined to have a close look at what you already have and simply add a layer to firm them up. Six berths worth of foam is going to be very expensive. If it was me and I slept in the aft cabin, that bunk would get the prime treatment, something like a secondhand latex mattress cut to suit. Main cabin where you mainly sit I would go very firm foam layered foam. Ordinary Clark rubber foam is way too soft to sleep on. Check online for info on yacht cushions, how to make them and what foams, its all very interesting.

Ramona, what we have is okay in terms of comfort but it is falling apart leaving dust. It has to go. Thanks for tips. Hmmm... just did some reading; complicated business.
