Hi,

We dropped the genoa today, for some minor repairs. The furler top swivel bearing is failing and I will need help with replacement.

Can anyone recommend a rigger on Lake Macquarie?

Thanks

Hi I hanen't used him but I understand that Bob Fussell at Speers Point does rigging. A fellow Catalina 320 sailor, Pilgrim, used him to rerig not so long ago.

He's not on Lake Macquarie itself but I can certainly recommend Scott at East Coast Sail & Marine. they are located attached to the Marina complex at NCYC. My boat is also on the Lake and he was happy to come out there for the job.

I used these guys when I replaced my standing rigging. Very friendly, helpful and prompt. they also turned up when they said they would and completed work in line with their estimated time frames. I would certainly use him again.

Bob Fussel and his rigger Patrick did a good job when they replaced my Catalina 320 standing rigging a few years ago ,I will use them again when i need more rigging work.
I have also had Scott Beeby from east coast sails supply sails for my boat, I can second Matm's recommendation

I had the standing rigging replaced and furler installed by Bryan Phillips of www.phillipssails.com.au/
He did a great job, I would recommend him.
They did the work at LMYC

All,

thanks for the feedback.

I dropped the sail at East Coast Marine today. They are willing to visit the lake for work, so I will follow that option for now.

Next step I need to find out if parts for the furler are available. It is a Reefit unit so it will be interesting to see how I go.
