I just scrapped all the rubbish off my rudder yesterday after in had been left for years.
The surface is a bit irregular, chipped paint and minor gashes etc.
Could anyone advise me ie Do I need to sand right back, or can I brush over a coat of something and sand and paint?

what is it made of?
how seriously do you race? this would affect how "fair" it needs to be.
