hi
the attached photo shows the one or two keel bolts out of 9 which has some rust on the top of it. Does anyone know how to treat this ? Rust convertor then Lanolin ?
The out of water survey shows no cracks at all around the root of the keel.

As the bolt is 316 stainless, as you can see the rust under the glass, so the rust is coming from the keel its self. So you need to seal off around the bolts to stop water and air getting in. The rust shoul be easly knocked off the bolt. To do it properly you will kneed to drop the keel and fix the rust on the keel. You could aslo try cleaning it up and putting epoxy all over the bolts, as this will stop the air and water getting in and then keep an eye on it (do all the bolts as silicone will always end up leaking).
