So I happen to have a 3 day weekend and am hoping to find a boat to go out on Sun/Mon for a discover sailing type trip or even and as green horn crew.

I have 2 people, the girlfriend and myself both new to sailing. Anyone know of any boats/races/cruises where we can start our sailing journey?

Not to sure what you mean. At most I was hoping someone knew of a popular race I could visit that needs participants.

I have 3 days but only 2 that I can afford to hit the water on, but if evening prep is a thing I can help with then great.

Also I have looked around and didn't see that much on at the moment and the weather is light except for Saturday. The day that's busy sadly.

Furthermore before this post I did call a couple clubs to see if I could join their activities and joined a crewing site.

I figured the more airtime I can get the higher the chances some one my come along although unlikely so maybe it's a bit light on the personal details...

If you have a better suggestion I would be happy hear it. (no sarcasm intended)

Alternatively you can try some dinghy sailing at Woolhara sailing club. Not as glam as Keelboat but a lot of fun and a good way to learn.

Thanks for that. Having some formal training would definitely make this easier but they are all budget killers for the moment. I was hoping to crew with someone that does not mind a couple of eager newbs.

That first links booking button doesn't work and the rest all start in a couple of weeks which is a bit late :/

I do like dinghy idea but the GF being from the EU has the whole terrified of sharks deal that I'm working on overcoming so a boat you can fall off of is too much for her atm. Me - I don't mind the puppies so much being a kiter.

So I did end up going out over the weekend, a colleague of mine mine has sailing on his bucklist and so we ended up taking a Hobi wave at the Balmoral sailing club.

It's the most fun I have had in a while! I can't wait to get out again. We even flipped the boat trying to fast in a bit chop. Such a good time out!

So up next I think, is to get out on a dinghy and see if I can crew at a club close to me. (kareela)
