I spent a night at the motorboat club at the Northern end of Gunnamatta Bay fair while ago. Just follow the channel markers. Friend of mine manages the Dolan Bay marina and he would love to see you. Not easy to get ashore there though like most of the Sydney area. Use Google earth, that shows the channels well.

There are a lot of yachts up there. My mate Phil thinks its the yachting hub of the Sydney area. He lives on a Cavalier 32.

We have sailed extensively throughout the Port over the years and including the last Christmas holiday period.
Our NS33 draws 1.7m and even at low tide did not present any problems,provided you stick to within the channel markers.
Jedibrad is right about the dredging which allows better navigating at present.
Jibbon beach is a must and also has a few public moorings available if you are not a fan of anchoring.Some great walks ashore there.
Exploring from Jibbon, stay north through all the channel markers.There are some lovely homes along the way with sandstone boatsheds etc.Reaching to Gogerly's point there are more public moorings available and you can choose destinations between N/West arm and S/West arm.Both are good,but S/W is always our preference for a quiet anchorage.There is good holding at anchor and decent fishing with sizeable bream available.Interestingly some of the land features there are reminiscent of the Hawkesbury.
Very much an underrated cruising destination. C.R.
