We have made it to the southern end of the Whitsundays. The SW winds made for a quick trip up here, now the weather is just perfect. We are currently motoring from Port Newry to Shaw Island as the wind is only 5 knots. 7.00am and the temp is 20deg.. We have a Yellow Brick tracker on board so you can see our travels by logging into,

We have some commitments next week, so we will be at Able Point Marina all next week, but after that we will be back on the water, sailing, fishing, eating oysters off the rocks, diving and just having a good time. The weather up here sure looks a lot better up here than down south. I will post some more photos as time goes on,
jjust the wet the appetitle of you southernears to come this way next year.
John & Deb.

Jode5 if you get any northerly although not common this time a year I will post you a screen map of one of the best snorkelling spots in the Whitsundays.

Also it's worth going out to Bait reef for a few overnighters its a small atoll with 12 x 30 meter bommies at the entrance ,I can also share some knowlage about this area as well. Regards

The other tip I can give you is when the tides going down head up, tide going up head down....this will give you extra 2 knots boat speed. Regards

Agree, we have been to the southern anchorage previously in Northey winds and caught good fish. We will have a look at the northern anchorage sometime this trip. 11.00am now and the fog is getting thicker. Thank god for radar and AIS.

There was also a bit of fog up near Gloucester Island this morning but it was gone before I got to the Passage.

Next week is a good week to be in shelter Jode5 with the 25 plus winds all week.

I'll be in Bowen on pile B17.
