We carried the full main all day. As we approached Coventry reef, the breeze kept strengthening, finally powering up the #4 (#3 tack broke

) The breeze had built to around 30, and we thought about a reef, but knew we would be around Coventry shortly, and we'd want full rag for the fast ride home.
Reefs are to be avoided!!!!

At 35kts we would be at #4 & a reefed main, which is proabaly getting to towards the comfort limit of an amatuer crew that do it for fun, so we would switch from racing mode to get home safe mode.
We enjoyed the day, was a great outing.
Sunday we had the Fremantle Harbour Race - 30 bigs yachts racing a HC start in a tight piece of water - great viewing! Photos here...
