Missed the entrance or miss took the entrance? Confirmation bias is something that has been mentioned here a few times.
My very own Marina (for the last 6 years) still makes me think when entering it. The typical approach to a facing starboard marker isn't intuitive and that's with a marina I'm familiar with.
