I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a soft shackle ot better still a stop in a plastic sheath? What i want is to attach a couple of turning blocks for spinnaker and genoa sheets to the toe rail. Metal shackles damage the anodizing and without the sheathing I think the cord will cut through. Any ideas?
What about just some plastic hose?? Cheap enough to replace semi regularly. Me personally, I'll use the clear hose to give a better chance of seeing how it's all going on the inside..
What two dogs said. You can make them yourself whilst sitting in front of the TV, fun stuff. Mind you, looking at my last one doesn't look real pretty, I have to practice a bit more! Really handy to have a few on board for all sorts of things.
Making them is easy, although they are becoming pretty cheap off the shelf, I sell the Marlow 6mm 4000kg ones for $22 each.
As far as the cover goes, I have dyneema chafe guard in stock which is a dyneema sleeve that would easily slide over or buy a metre of 32 plait double braid and use the cover only.
