Finally sold! Someone has got themselves a fine boat. Starlight Express was owned by a regular on Seabreeze. Lets hope we hear from the new owner.

Starlight Express is a bloody fast boat, I remember sailing in convoy with SE & a few other yachts from Laurieton to QLD a couple of years ago now. The now ex owner (who is a top fella!) sailed her from Vic', he would often raise sail...a half reefed main, no halyard tension, not get the mainsheet right etc etc, yet he would cruise through the fleet to the front....then turn around go back to say G'day to the last person at the rear, then cruise up through the fleet again.
It was great to watch a yacht that didn't care what her sails looked like, when she got out on the ocean she just lifted her skirt & sailed.
I wish the ex-owner (& his dog) well.

I presume it sold in the high $30ks? Whilst it's tempting to say it's a bargain, it's not. This is the market value. God help us all.

Not quite sold yet. Price is still $40,000. There is a deposit on it and the guy wants to slip her about 15/12/2016.
If somebody weighs in with $40,000 straight up they will own the boat.

My piles are 40 feet apart and there is no provision for those floaty ringy things, so Starlight' would be a bit too tight of a squeeze for me. It's so tempting though.
