Hi
if anyone could tell me of typical summer sailing conditions of Gulf of st vincent?
Any tips for sailing there in skiffs?
Or places to avoid?
Is there tide?
And anything else relevant along with photos would be appreciated.
Thanks

Generally windy. Seabreeze comes in at 2 o'clock on the dot. If clouds develop over the hills at lunch time then it will blow.

Standard tidal cycles but once a month there is a very small tidal range during the neap cycle ie: virtually no movement over a 6-12 hour period. It is called a dodge tide (only happens here and Gulf of Mexico). If sailing inshore when the tide is running in always go in shore.

Not many skiff sail in Adelaide (maybe 2 or 3 14's). I think its partly to do with the when its windy. 1-1.5m steep chop. Probably similar to Port Philip Bay in Vic.

Lots a good pubs and friendly sailors.
