Pantaenius want another out of water survey. I'm overseas so this is likely to be difficult.
Anybody had one done in Sydney recently and what did it cost?

Noakes charged us $540 for a survey for insurance late last year (not including lift/launch).

Thanks for that. How big a boat was it for?

Surveyed my 10m boat in June for club marine.
$280 for survey and approx the same for a lift.

Survey was really only a tick the box checklist for Insurance and not a thorough one.
It was recommended to me by the surveyor that I install a float operated bilge pump and that went on the report.
The insurance company then asked me if I was likely to do so and that was it ,,, for another 5 years anyway.
No big deal really

2013, they want one every 5 years. It is all these annoying and costly issues that can put a bloke off having a boat.

Yep on the money side. I have to get my liferaft serviced this year to be eligible for racing.
$1500.
Per year.
You can rent them cheaper than this.
Go figure.

yep stopped having mine serviced about 7 years ago got sick of buying new ones to meet rule changes now rent off great circle way cheaper

Who is the 3rd party with? I couldnt find anyone doing it 3 years ago and does it cover wreck removal?

Youi. There were also two smaller firms who offered, cant remember who they were. Also at the time Youi were willing to adjust the premium depending on how many days a year the boat was actually used. They were very helpful. Dont know about wreck removal, I dont plan on that :-) I would suggest phone around again. Youi have also insured a friends boat (1990 Hutton 25) without needing the out of water survey. My friend said they took down the details and done.

Youi only did boats up to 38 foot at the time and the marina im at require removal of a wreck as part of the policy after a couple of uninsured sinkers.

I'm in Italy, getting to Drummoyne might take a while!
