I know from what I've read that the calibre of surveyors varies greatly...
Regardless of opinion on if they are worth engaging, I need to for insurance, for peace of mind and to ID what I should be filling my time with whilst learning to sail...
I need to engage one out of Hobart.
Anyone got any tips, experiences and know the quality of the Tassie guys?

Hi Semus

If you are getting a survey for insurance be careful who you use as some insurance companies will only use certain surveyors

This is a list off the Club Marine website

I have used Sam Webb as he is local to me and also i have heard good things about Patrick Synge www.boatstasmania.com.au/surveys.php?page=about

I think the first qualifier for a "marine surveyor" is, does he/she own a yacht.
