Hey , I need to beach my boat , i am new to lake maquarie and was wondering if anyone knows how much the tide falls near swansea bridge. I know in the lake they isnt much change. every time i have been though the channel its been near high tide. i just need an 60cm raise and fall . i am guessing it would still have the over run and would be affected by heavy rain in the lake.
Thanks
Brett

Curly,
there is a sand bar on the western side of the bridge, north side of the channel, that dries at low tide. I have no idea how much depth there is at high tie or how long it is dry for. You might need to grab a dinghy and have a look around.
Welcome to Lake Macquarie, it is a great sailing area.

Curly, I can't really comment on where you might beach your boat. As LMY says there is negligible change in the lake. ( th height of the water in the lake is governed by atmospheric pressure, not tides).
What you need to be cautious of is that if you use the water in the channel to do what you want you will have to take into consideration the speed of the water in the channel as the tide goes one way or the other.
Other than at slack water or just shortly either side there is a lot of movement in the channel.
