Been on the boat for about 10 days now, currently sailing off Portland Vic in some rough weather on a Lagoon 380 and the boat feel like its being vibrated in to bits. 3m swell and 25-35 knots in squalls, at least we are making some speed as we were motoring for lond stretches on the east coast at 5 knots and this weather is pushing us up to 14 knots in short bursts, thought id entertain myself a bit since the auto pilot is doing all the work and Iwould just like to see some time pass.
Yes big high and trough abouve it, easterly comming in right behind boat SE as we are appoaching Robe which is about 45 miles away. swell is from SSW, so we get to surf some of the big ones. But the skipper needs to see a doctor so we will be in Robe for a while, which I wont mind. still getting pushed around badly with squalls about35 knots.
Not my boat only doing a delivery and not my type of thing, slow as a slug only realy nice for daytrips but Im not an expert, just disapointed in the speed we are making with a cat but were stuck in Robe now for maybe a week and im running out of time so Port lincoln may be my exit. any takers ?
we are leaving Robe on tuesday...hopefully, its been nice here but just a too long after not stopping any were part from Ulladulla and Hastings. Next stop is Kangaroo Island which is an over nighter and then on to Port Lincoln. Ride across bight could take 6-10 days depending on weather. but thats not confirmed yet as extra crew will be needed, owner will pay for fly into PL and all expensses.
