Looks like a nice cat Ken , I,m a mono man also , but if I had a wide enough marina berth I could be converted
I guess theres always a swing mooring option

Two yanmas , nice

Not keen on sail drives though

Never even stepped aboard a multi!!

to me it looks good value, but I'd like it more if it had daggerboards though.

sell the lead belly and come over to the dark side

Not a bad looking cat at all!!

I like galley up but I am also a fan of twin steering stations, it's the racer coming out in me!!

If you're looking at a cat always check bridge deck clearance, some are a bit on the low side for bashing into a big seaway!!

Ha!
Woman's intuition!!!
I knew there was something going on and your conviction was starting to sway on the Dream Boats thread, Ken!! Where the heart leads, the head will follow...or is it the other way around...who cares...you're thinking about evolutionary progression and that is a GOOD THING!

Now, come across to the Dark Side and play! I guarantee you will never look back!! It rates up there with the rest of the wind and water fast sports as being the best fun you can have with your clothes on --or off as your heart desires lol!!

Seriously, I'm a daggerboard fan as well. Wouldn't buy a cat without them...or would have them built in. I race on a Lightwave 38 that actually has one built in. The Fountaine seems quite light for a production boat...maybe I'm wrong.

Yep, galley up is good...wish mine was but no such fortune in 32ft...I think there's good galley-ups and bad galley-ups though. I feel very precarious working in a galley at the top of a stairway, however, many up galleys are situated thus. My preference is that seen on bigger Crowther cats that have galley up running for and aft....ask Hangtime about his?? Actually Hangtime would be the man to ask about all things multi!

Go fractional rig for better windward performance...on the right track with the Fountaine.

Huge weekend..brain's scrambled..if I think of more stuff, will add. Great to see you at least considering coming across mate!!!

Now now Trace, don,t get to cocky just me going through an open minded thought process. Still a big fan of the mono but am seriously open to the twin hull idea. This may take anywhere up to 2 years for me as it's something I don,t want to rush into and make the wrong decision. We are Whitsundaying in May on a 42ft Bavaria and hopefully will head up again before Oct and try a cat. Thanks for the info on the rigging, galley and the dagger boards , something to be looking out for. Will be processing all the info I come across to help make a decision (hopefully before 12 months) . Have to have a few things go my way in the next year and I will be into 3rd gear and looking seriously.
Cheers
