Hi All,
New reader from across the ditch.

I've always been fascinated by Windrush 600's, but aside from the original blurb from 30 odd years back, where they were claimed to be about as fast as a 14, I haven't been able to find any information about performance.

Can anyone fill me in on how they go? What do they compare with around a course? What are the strong and weak points when it comes to rough weather? If we get caught out 10 miles offshore in 25 knots, can they sail back upwind safely?

We've been looking at medium sized multis, TT720, GBE etc, but I feel the GBE, whilst big and capable, is too much for me to handle basically alone (small kids keep my wife busy at times). Also the idea of pulling the boat out onto a trailer for the winter or when there are severe storms coming appeals.

I also like the look of the Scarab tri's, but tbh I'm kinda lazy, so glass boats are preferred.

I'm assuming that the W600 would be a lot quicker than most small trailer yachts, as well as sailing flat mostly, as my 4 year old hates boats that heel.

Thanks,
Aaron.

Seawind 24's are a good little cruiser
A few have cruised long distance
Plenty of room for weekend warriors and costal stuff
