There isn't a huge selection in that size range and it also depends on how deep your pockets are. Mono or cat?

Personally I'd always lusted after a Noelex but they were out of my price range. There's also the Macgregors if you must (but they do have more space than just about anything and are light to tow). The Farr 7500 is supposed to be and excellent performer.

This link is an excellent resource on trailer sailers generally johncrawfordmarine.com.au/trailer-sailer with specs, brochures and articles for a huge range of boats.

Keep an eye on eBay. There is a Clifton 23 there at the moment for about $2200 starting bid, boats in Geelong. Some staggering good deals come up regularly.

What about a RL24 .. my RL24 was made in WA under license in the late 80s and i shipped it to Qld about 4 years ago I have a RL28 on hardstand for longer duration voyages on the bay, and find the RL24 a delight to sale and occasional overnight

omfg - no offence intended to the rl24 diehards but please... there are many superior trailer sailers to Rob Legg's ancient design. The Masrm (Merv Anderson Sandgate Road Marine) 720 is a far superior boat to the rl24 and is also available as a '750' (not made by merv) It was made with either a bulb keel or centreboard - the bulb version is slightly quicker but not as beachable.
The Sonata brand was also quite good but needs to have the companionway narrowed to prevent swamping in a knockdown (if not already done).
The clubman 25 is superior to all these but in a higher price bracket - the macgregor is the slowest under sail (under rigged) and, as everybody knows, the fastest under motor with its 50hp standard outboard. The rl is like the hobie - popular but OVERRATED!!! Do a lot more research and try to get a ride on any boat in some local racing or wags/sags at your local club - this will get u access to the different characteristics of the numerous trailer sailers around...

There is a Rob legg yachts (RL) site if you are interested in a large ts. There is a lot of info on RLs, they are an oldie but a goodie and still a popular boat... the first one being built on the Gold Coast in the early 70s.

Nolexs are sweet but $$
Sonatas are good to O'nite in (roomy) but heavy to tow
Bonitos are good
Sabre's (22s) are great if you can get one
Australs are also well worth looking at (made by same manafacturer as Nolex)
there are heaps of "good" boats out there
John C rawfords is THE research info web page re trailer sailers
Trailer sailer forum is the place to find out lots about every boat and the owners of a boiat will always tell you theirs is best...
But will also often tell you what they have changed to make it the best!
