hey,

Anyone got a cruising anchor suitable for a 31ft yacht that they want to sell or lend for a couple weeks over christmas?
The one on the boat is to small for overnight stays in temporamental anchorages.

Cheers!!

Terrific!
We're using full length chain. Is a plough anchor going to be okay for north coast of K.I. I've been told fisherman's anchors are a better all round anchor for S.A.?
45lb sounds fairly large, what boat do you usually use it on?
Definately keen for a lend if it's going to be suitable- in exchange for some beer or wine or whatever floats your boat.
My ph no. is 0421116499

cheers,

Sam

With a 45lb plough holding a 31ft yacht you would probably rip the bow out of the yacht before the anchor would let go.

The plough will be fine, and yes the fisherman would be a better choice. I use it on my compass 28, but only as a back up, I usually use a marsh stockless type because it’s smaller and easier to pull up as I don’t have a windlass and it holds well too. With the plough if use you enough scope (3:1 with chain) it will hold well.
